Welcome Letter

 

Welcome and thank you for choosing  John Schell, MS LPC PLC Christian Counseling. My objective is to provide to you professional counseling services which will be appropriate, effective and best suited for your needs. 

 

My goal is to provide a safe therapeutic environment where you will feel safe to discuss whatever issues and concerns you may have without feeling that you are being judged or being looked down on. The process of counseling will illuminate areas of your life where we can explore and see if we can’t find better ways, more appropriate and effective ways to handle situations in your life leading to better mental, physical and spiritual health. For some this process can be painful, but leads to finding resolution for concerns and issues in one’s life.

 

Confidentiality provides security in knowing that what you say here, stays here. The exceptions are discussed later in the forms that will see included in this packet. In providing a safe environment confidentiality is key in helping you to feel safe to talk about any issue or concern you may have. 

 

Honesty is vital for us to make any real progress. Your role in therapy is to be open and honest with me. As the Shakespearian line says, “to thine own self be true” is the cornerstone of the work we will be able to accomplish in counseling. 

 

As part of Christian Counseling we will turn to the God for guidance and help. Believing that help can be found in searching The Bible and that God does care for us and hear our prayers.
